The most often types of the sheets made of stainless and heat resistant steel are: 1.4016; 1.4301; 1.4404; 1.4541; 1.4828

The range of the used thicknesses: 0,4 mm – 50 mm

Available formats: 1000 x 2000;  1250 x 2500;  1500 x 3000 and others

Designation of the surface finishing of stainless sheets and stripes

The rolling finishes of sheets and stripes made of the steels resistant to corrosion are obtained by both hot rolling and cold rolling:

Cold rolled – Z/W
2B  Surface smooth, matt, thermally treated
BA / 2R Surface smooth, shining, „MIRROR”, anaerobic annealed
2H Work-hardened, surface close to 2B
2C Thermal treatment, surface smooth with scale (as the residue after the treatment)
2E Surface rough and matt, scale removed mechanically
Hot rolled – G/W
1U No thermal treatment, the surface covered with rolling scale
1C Heat treatment, without descaling
1D Thermal treatment, etching (scale removed chemically)
1E Thermal treatment, scale removed mechanically
Special finishes
4N Wet grinding
DB Brushing
1M / 2M Patterned surface (obtained with the use of rollers with a pattern)
2W Folding

The main difference between the cold rolled and hot rolled sheet consists in the quality of finishing work and dimensional tolerances. When a higher surface quality or an especially strengthened material is required then cold rolled sheets are used. When the material is to be further treaded or the surface quality is of a minor significance then hot rolled sheets are used.
